Autumn Equinox

Sep 22, 2025

"...This is the solstice, the still point of the sun, its cusp and midnight, the year's threshold and unlocking, where the past lets go of and becomes the future..."
- Margaret Atwood

Hi again, friends! And welcome to the Fall season.

The Autumn Equinox marks the moment of equal day and night, reminding us of balance before we tip into the darker half of the year. Fall invites us to slow down, harvest the lessons of summer, and prepare for rest and renewal. The air shifts, leaves turn, and we’re reminded that change is both natural and beautiful.

Below you’ll find:

• a simple autumn ritual

• a reflective journal prompt

•  non-fiction and fiction book recommendations

• an unpdate on my current and future offerings

Being Present: A Simple Fall Ritual

Gratitude Leaf Ritual

Step outside and collect a fallen leaf. Hold it in your hand and name three things you’re grateful for from this past season. As you let the leaf go (place it on the ground, tuck it in your journal, or release it into water), set an intention for what you’d like to carry with you into Fall.

Reflecting on the Season: A Journaling Prompt

What am I ready to release, and what do I want to invite as I move into this new season?”

Let your thoughts flow—consider relationships, habits, or beliefs you’ve outgrown, and what new practices or energies you’d like to welcome.

Practice Updates

The equinox is a season of balance and new beginnings, which feels like the right time to share that I have space for a few more clients this fall.

My self-help book club is underway, and the current psychoeducation group will wrap up in November.

In the spring, I’ll begin SoulCollage® training so I can offer creative, soul-centered workshops next summer.

If this work resonates with you—or with someone you know—please pass along my info and invite them to sign up for my newsletter at www.covensteadnw.com, and follow along on Instagram @covenstead_nw for more updates and inspiration.

The equinox is a natural pause—a reminder to check in with yourself, notice what’s shifting, and care for your needs as the season turns. May this fall bring you steadiness, moments of rest, and space to grow in ways that support your whole health and well-being.

In balance, in gratitude, in season,

Winter Solstice
".The night will give you a horizon further than you can see."- David Whyte (from poem Sweet Darkness) Welcome, friends. I'm so glad you're here. The Winter Solstice (longest night of darkness in the year) invites us to honor what is resting, what is ending, and what is preparing to rise within us. In this sacred pause, we turn inward, trusting the unseen work happening beneath the surface. Th...
Summer Solstice
"...This is the solstice, the still point of the sun, its cusp and midnight, the year's threshold and unlocking, where the past lets go of and becomes the future..."- Margaret Atwood Hi, friends! Welcome to the longest day of the year and my first seasonal newsletter. At the height of the sun’s power, we stand in the fullness of light—radiant, expansive, and alive. The Summer Solstice invites ...
